The Secret Pain No One Talks About: What It’s Like to Love Someone in Addiction
You look fine to everyone else.
You smile at the grocery store.
You answer emails.
You hold conversations and say “I’m good, thanks” when someone asks how you are.
And maybe you are okay. Kind of.
You’ve gotten used to holding it all together.
But underneath it?
You’re tired.
Your heart hurts.
And you’re carrying a pain so big—so invisible—
it barely has a name.
This is the secret pain no one talks about.
It’s the pain of loving someone who drinks too much.
Of watching someone you love disappear into a bottle.
Of being lied to again and again.
Of hoping, praying, begging—for things to change.
Of riding the rollercoaster of broken promises.
You tell yourself:
- Maybe it’s not that bad.
- Maybe I’m overreacting.
- Maybe this time they mean it when they say they’ll stop.
But deep down, you know the truth.
And carrying that truth alone is exhausting.
The Secret Pain You Carry
This pain has a way of making you feel invisible.
Like no one could possibly understand
what it’s like to keep loving someone
who is slowly disappearing right in front of you.
I know, because I’ve been there.
I’ve lived that ache.
I’ve felt that silence.
That’s why I created Her Alchemy Lab—
a place for women like us.
A place where the weight you’ve carried in secret
can finally be spoken aloud.
You don’t have to keep this hidden anymore.
You’re not broken.
You’re not crazy.
And you are not alone.
You’re Not Alone
If these words resonate, know this: you’re not crazy, you’re not weak, and you’re not alone. So many of us have walked this same invisible road.
That’s why I created the Alchemy Starter Guide—
to help women like us begin the journey home to ourselves
with truth, compassion, and light.
Download it, breathe with it,
and let it be the first step back to you.
